Contact
with saliva, tears, sweat, feces or urine
Transmission can only occur
when a sufficient amount of HIV enters the bloodstream, through cuts or
mucous membranes. These "bodily fluids" either contain no HIV or it
exists in a quantity too
small to result in transmission. HIV is not transmitted by saliva.
Rape/Sexual Assault
Becoming infected with HIV
during a sexual assault is very unlikely. If the person that committed
the assault does not have the AIDS virus in his body, it is impossible
to become infected from him. Even if the rapist is HIV positive, a person
is still very unlikely to become infected during a rape.
